Student Minister

Jake Jenkins grew up in the small town of Hickory Tavern, which has only one stoplight but a lot of churches. He obtained a B.A. in Youth Ministry from North Greenville University and his M.Div. (Master of Divinity) in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently working toward an EdD. Mentoring and Discipleship at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

He ended up at Harris Baptist Church as the Student Minister through a friend. After hearing about the opening Harris had for a Student Pastor, he sought counsel from the Lord. After seeking counsel, God opened doors allowing Jake to become the Student Minister.  Jake joined the staff of Harris in 2019.

Jake has always had a love first student ministry. He sees the need for students to have a Christian role model. He loves getting to disciple students and encourage their walk with Christ. 

He married Heather Jenkins in October of 2018. Together have two goldendoodles, Graham and Si. 

Some of Jake’s favorite things in this world, outside of the Lord (and his wife), are sports, music, and Taco Bell.
